C&#8217;est un terrain de chasse seigneuriale. Les paysans n\u2019y acc\u00e8dent que pour le ramassage du bois mort et la p\u00e2ture sous futaie. Mais la tentation est grande d\u2019en faire d\u2019autres usages, interdits. D\u2019o\u00f9, de nombreux d\u00e9lits relat\u00e9s dans les archives de Serrant.
